Eleven years ago Margot Spalding and her husband Alan established Jimmy Possum Furniture. Margot is passionate about her family (of seven children), her business, and the region. Margot is a member of Rotary Bendigo, and VREG (Victorian Regional Executives Group), and served on the Board of BRiT (Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE. Her determination, design flair and well honed business intuition were rewarded last year when she was named the Telstra Australian Business Woman Of The Year and National Winner of the Westpac Business Owner Award.

Margot will talk about her journey as she built the Jimmy Possum “family”, to now more than 150 highly skilled and enthusiastic employees in five stores across three states. As “mother possum” Margot travels from state to state, from store to store, and back to Possum Central in Bendigo, almost on a weekly basis. She admits to “living, breathing, eating and sleeping Jimmy Possum”. Come and be inspired by her story of the growth of this extraordinary family company.
